CRC Results at USRowing Southeast Regional Championships

This past Saturday and Sunday, June 23 & 24, 2018, the Columbia Rowing Club Masters (Ages 21+) traveled to Lake Olmstead in Augusta, Georgia to complete in USRowing Southeast Regional Championships. These championships bring competitors from all over the southeastern United States to compete in 1,000 meter sprint races.

Columbia Rowing Club loaded up the trailer with six boats to compete in ten events ranging in size of boat and gender mixture.

Augusta Rowing Club was generous enough to allow us to borrow Virginia Banks, a youth coxswain for some of our larger boats.


The Women’s Masters 4x enjoyed sporting new jersey’s created by Sarah.


CRC put out a Mens 8+ for the first time in years! Thanks to Harrison of USC for stepping in to join the masters. 

Becky bravely took on the Women’s Masters 1x race .

Mixed Masters 8+ took Bronze to finish up the day on Saturday.

Thanks to Brooks and Hisham for organizing and cooking amazing post Saturday row cookout of chicken and shrimp tacos with rice, beans, corn and lots of fixings.

Sunday started Day 2 of Racing as the Mixed Masters 4x (Rainbow Quad) took Silver in a Photo Finish with a 0.11 Second Difference in 1st & 2nd.

Ryan & Hisham took Silver in their Men’s Double.

Dan & Tom took Bronze in their Men’s Double.

The Men’s Masters 4x took Silver with a Huge Walk on the Opposing Teams in the Final 300 Meters of the Race.

Tom & Sarah took Bronze in their Mixed Double.

Anabella and Scott raced their Mixed 2x as the follow up to their debut at Clemson Sprints. 

The final result ended up in a successful weekend of racing, team-bonding and fun, with a bonus earning of 23 individual medals in six events.
